John specializes in locating and setting monumentation and all aspects of construction surveying including municipal infrastructure and utilities, curb and gutter, highway construction, transmission/power line construction, and oil and gas exploration. He is also proficient in collecting topographic data at the standards needed for engineering purposes, GIS, ALTA/NSPS, and FEMA Flood Certifications.
John is a member of the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors and the Northern Lakes Chapter of the WSLS.
Prior to his current position, John was a party chief for two separate engineering and surveying companies in Wisconsin and Colorado over the course of 12 years. His work included all aspects of boundary and construction surveying in New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, and Wisconsin. Prior to joining the surveying profession, he worked for the United States Forest Service for seven years in Colorado and Idaho.
John holds a B.S. in Outdoor Recreation and Resource Management from Indiana University – Bloomington. He has received his Professional License in Land Surveying in July of 2019 and is looking forward to helping expand the Land Surveying Department.
In his free time, John enjoys spending time with his family, building furniture, and exploring with his backpack and canoe.

Sarah is responsible for managing yard and tree farm logistics; wholesale/retail orders; and field support. She also assists the Survey department with any field support needed.
In her free time, Sarah loves to go hiking, take the kiddos camping, cook, and regularly host game nights with friends.

Rob works from our Negaunee, MI office and is responsible for department oversight, staffing, procurement, and budget management. He brings over 20 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Surveyor to the Steigerwaldt team. His well rounded background in survey project management includes experience in Construction Layout and As-Built, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Subsidence Surveying and Reporting, Cadastral Surveys, Government Corner Remonumentation, Boundary Surveys for Public and Private entities, Mine Tailings Impoundment Construction, and Underground Mine Construction and Excavation Calculations.
Rob’s hobbies include fishing, hunting (of course he’s a Yooper), college hockey, and gardening.
