When the city of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, wanted to convert an abandoned railroad line into a new biking/walking path, our appraisers were up for the challenge. The appraisal assignment included appraising multiple parcels, in segments, along the route the railroad took through the city.

This project called for the appraisers employing an approach known as “over the fence value,” which involves determining value based on what adjacent property is worth. This is a common approach taken with public improvement projects. Our licensed appraisers hit the trail running on this assignment and delivered finished reports to the client within two months.
