Meet Martha Sebald
Martha supports the Analysis and Technology Solutions department with forestry analysis and inventory projects, stumpage valuations, and forestry data organization.
Please provide a professional history introduction (prior and during your time at Steigerwaldt):
- Before working at Steigerwaldt, I was an investment analyst for a family office in St. Paul. After spending three years in finance, I pursued a graduate degree in forestry and applied economics. I came to Steigerwaldt as I was finishing up my master’s at the University of Minnesota.
Why are you passionate about this field?
- Love the outdoors! And finding interesting resource management solutions.
How do you serve our clients?
- Data management and analysis, technical report writing, lead inventory support, client communications, forest carbon inventories, and verifications. Sometimes I bake cookies and share them with clients too!

- One of the friendliest and sharpest groups of people I’ve worked with.
What industry changes are you most excited about?
- Investment opportunities in a variety of ecosystem services are growing, new markets are exciting.
What would you do with 10 acres?
- Potato field and a hobby farm/forest.

- Eastern Europe
