Meet The Team: Patti Winker
Meet Patti Winker, an Administrative Assistant at Steigerwaldt. Patti is responsible for assisting the finance department and maintaining and tracking expenses daily. She also makes sure all vendors receive accurate payments in a timely manner. Essentially, if you need to know detail about expenses, Patti will produce it.

Please provide a professional history introduction (prior and during your time at Steigerwaldt):
- My professional life began in the pulp and paper industry, where a combination of bookkeeping skills and attention to detail helped me quickly advance from data entry to Accounting Manager. I enjoyed other career opportunities through the years including retail, real estate, business owner, and freelance writer. I embraced each new challenge and always welcomed the learning process. Here at Steigerwaldt, I am proud to be a part of our finance team, creating cohesive accounting processes to provide accurate, detailed information for our team.
Why are you passionate about this field?
- Supporting Steigerwaldt in this era of environmental awareness and land stewardship is a privilege.
How do you serve our clients?
- I serve our clients by supporting our team with timely execution of financial transactions, as well as accurate and detailed reporting.
Why do you enjoy working at Steigerwaldt?
- It’s the team. Yes, I enjoy the work, but the team of people makes Steigerwaldt special.
Since you’ve worked here, how has the industry changed?
- The term “forest management” has taken on an entirely new definition. Focus on land stewardship and protection of the environment are front and center.
What industry changes are you most excited about?
- Even though the technology is sometimes hard for me to navigate, every time we institute a new high-tech process, I absolutely love it!
What’s your superpower?
- Being able to see the tiniest details/mistakes – hypervigilant?
What’s your favorite tree and why?
- Maple. Soft greens in the spring, brilliant reds in the fall, and safe haven for all sorts of creatures.
What’s your favorite National Park?
- Gulf Islands National Seashore – aka the Emerald Coast, Florida Panhandle.
