Our Roots

Tom Hittle has been with Steigerwaldt for 37 years and currently holds the title of Senior Vice President of Land and Resource Management.

What are three skills or attributes that describe you?

Involved, results-oriented, and curious.

Which projects that you have worked on have been the most enjoyable?

Generally, I enjoy examining complex issues and developing courses of action to achieve desired outcomes. Working on resource analysis projects have been both challenging and rewarding. Work we did for the Wisconsin Forest Practices Study is one that comes to mind that I believe was particularly impactful.

What are your biggest accomplishments at Steigerwaldt?

Building GIS services and applications through the mid 1990s, growing our client management base to over 400,000 acres at one point, and building the team and expertise to see our business grow from 5 employees, when I started, to over 50 now.

What is your favorite Steigerwaldt value and why?

Drive. To me, drive relates to grit and tenacity – the ability and need to continue to push forward, to have the passion and perseverance to weather the storms, and to contribute in a significant manner to make tomorrow better than today.

How do you see this value in action at work?

Drive connects to our focus as consultants and experts to observe, examine, listen, and provide solutions to overcome obstacles and achieve the desired outcomes and ultimately, to live up our motto of, “Your Confidence Lands Here.”
