Forestry
Jon is responsible for directing, coordinating, and leading Steigerwaldt Tree Farm’s field operations and manages wholesale and retail Christmas tree sales. His duties also include budget management, performance targets, action plan, data analysis, and marketing for Steigerwaldt Tree Farms. Jon works as the tree farm field operations leader and works with other members of the department to develop and maintain client relationships. He supervises farm projects, processes, and scheduling between in-house departments to maintain efficiencies. He is the lead on maintenance of GIS data for Steigerwaldt lands and Christmas tree inventory. Jon also serves as the lead liaison with our Forestry Department, and directs and evaluates equipment needs and maintenance.
Prior to his current position, Jon was responsible for evaluating, identifying, leading a tree crew, and safely using a chain saw to successfully remove hazard trees from along trail systems to provide safe trails for recreationalists.

Meagan earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management and a certificate in Environmental Science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Prior to her position with Steigerwaldt, Meagan served as a Peace Corps volunteer for two years as an Agroforestry Extension Agent in Senegal, West Africa. She is a member of the Society of American Foresters. Meagan operates out of the Tomahawk, Wisconsin office.
In her free time, Meagan enjoys traveling, running, biking, rock climbing, kayaking; really anything that gets her outdoors. She also enjoys trying new things.

Josh specializes in forest operations oversight and execution for large private landowners (TIMO, REIT, and large private non-industrial ownerships). He is experienced in all aspects of Lake States and Appalachian silviculture, third-party certification systems (FSC, SFI, and ATF), timber sale harvest planning, establishment, marketing, contracting, and administration, inventory execution and field oversight, forest road maintenance and improvement, and reforestation planning and contracting. He holds a Wisconsin Real Estate Sales License and assists clients with timberland and recreational real estate acquisitions, dispositions, marketing, contracting, due diligence, recreational lease program oversight, and strategic direction.
In his current role, Josh manages Steigerwaldt’s offices in Hayward, Wisconsin and Negaunee, Michigan. He is responsible for operations oversight of approximately 275,000 acres of client-owned properties, as well as client and company budget management, client relationships, project management, staffing, procurement, and execution of business directives and expectations.
Josh resides in Hayward, Wisconsin, and enjoys spending time with his family, deer hunting, searching for shed antlers, musky fishing, and coaching youth basketball.

Andrea’s responsibilities at Steigerwaldt include assisting the ROW, Forestry, and Brokerage departments in document preparation, execution, and project procurement. She assists with maintaining in-house database systems to record landowner information and track important dates, file management of all project documentation, and supports the Right-of- Way, Forestry, and Brokerage departments with production and distribution of project information to clients and customers. Andrea also assists in acquisition projects for quality control, assurance, and data organization.

Adam has been with Steigerwaldt Land Services since graduating in 2005. His day to day responsibilities include project level land management for a variety of landowners here in northern Wisconsin. He is proficient at timber sale preparation and administration, management plan preparation, forest inventory, re-forestation, and Best Management Practices implementation.
Throughout his career, Adam has furthered his education and received additional certifications. He is a Certified Managed Forest Law plan writer in Wisconsin, has received Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI) Certification through the Forest Industry Safety and Training Alliance (FISTA), and is a certified Karner Blue Butterfly (KBB) surveyor. Adam is also a Wisconsin Cooperating Consulting Forester and a member of the Society of American Foresters.

Tom was appointed in 2013 by the governor of Wisconsin to serve on the Wisconsin Council on Forestry; in 2019 he was appointed as the Chair of the Council. He served as State Chair for the Wisconsin Society of American Foresters (2014 – 2015), and also served as the State Chair for the Wisconsin Chapter of the Association of Consulting Foresters (2017 – 2018). Tom is actively involved in forest policy matters and is an advocate for the forest industry, recently giving presentations to the Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association, Wisconsin Counties Association, Wisconsin Board of Commissioners of Public Lands-Board of Directors, Wisconsin Statewide Department of Natural Resources Forestry staff, and at regional and national Society of American Foresters conferences.

Prior to his current position, Vince was an intern with Compass Land Consultants. His primary duties were marking northern hardwoods on industrial lands in Upper Michigan. Prior to his full-time employment, he was a limited term employee with Steigerwaldt Land Services, with primary duties including carbon inventory in Alaska and Kentucky and inventory for industrial clients in Wisconsin.

Mike is responsible for overseeing activities on clients’ land bases and ensuring logging, site prep, and reforestations are completed in a safe, effective, and timely manner. His duties include timber marking, boundary line establishment, timber sale administration, harvest planning, reforestation contracting, planting and site prep administration, rail car loading logistics, and timber cruising. He specializes in pine management, harvest planning, and ensuring timber sales are set up and completed in a timely manner for clients. Mike is a member of the Society of American Foresters and a Certified Pesticide Applicator.

Land Surveying
John specializes in locating and setting monumentation and all aspects of construction surveying including municipal infrastructure and utilities, curb and gutter, highway construction, transmission/power line construction, and oil and gas exploration. He is also proficient in collecting topographic data at the standards needed for engineering purposes, GIS, ALTA/NSPS, and FEMA Flood Certifications.
John is a member of the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors and the Northern Lakes Chapter of the WSLS.
Prior to his current position, John was a party chief for two separate engineering and surveying companies in Wisconsin and Colorado over the course of 12 years. His work included all aspects of boundary and construction surveying in New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, and Wisconsin. Prior to joining the surveying profession, he worked for the United States Forest Service for seven years in Colorado and Idaho.
John holds a B.S. in Outdoor Recreation and Resource Management from Indiana University – Bloomington. He has received his Professional License in Land Surveying in July of 2019 and is looking forward to helping expand the Land Surveying Department.

Emily specializes in consulting with clients regarding regulatory issues pertaining to their project and has an extensive knowledge of local ordinances. She works regularly with WDNR, FEMA, county, and town zoning personnel to help guide clients with their project needs. She has an extensive background and experience with subdividing sections, the re-establishment of the US Public Land Survey System corners. She works with project management and coordination to ensure that timelines and expectations are exceeded, and is the lead on quality control within the land surveying department.
Emily served as the President of the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors in 2016 and remains an active member on their Board of Directors. She is also in tune with the actions of the National Society of Land Surveyors, serving as a representative of the surveyors of Wisconsin on their Board of Directors. She is also active with the Geospatial Committee and the Ethics and Standards of Practice Committee at the state level, and she chairs the Workforce Development Committee at the national level.
Prior to her current position, Emily served as the County Surveyor for Marathon County, Wisconsin. She served in that capacity for 5 years, and worked for the Conservation, Planning, and Zoning office of Marathon County for 13 years. There she gained the knowledge and experience to navigate local and state ordinances and statutes to help clients meet their goals.
Emily holds an Associates Degree in Science, specializing in Land Surveying from Nicolet College in 2001. She also continued her education and acquired additional certificates as a Certified Survey Technician in 2003. She earned her Professional Land Surveyor’s license in 2005, and she acquired her certification as a Certified Federal Surveyor in 2013.
In her spare time, Emily enjoys coaching volleyball for the local high school and youth club programs. She is active with the youth softball program and loves to watch her two daughters contribute to their sports teams. She and her husband also enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors with their family.

Throughout his career, Chris has been involved in industrial and non-industrial private land management. He currently manages Timberland Investment Management Organization (TIMO) land bases in northern Wisconsin. He earned the role of a real estate salesperson in 2017, where he specializes in vacant land sales.
Outside of Steigerwaldt Land Services, he is a town board supervisor and he is active in the youth wrestling program. In his free time, he and his wife keep busy raising four children on their property near Hayward, Wisconsin. His hobbies include bird hunting with his two labs, fishing with the family, and coaching.

Appraisal
Having a diverse knowledge of real estate and forestry, Laura is well versed in advising landowners on property management techniques to meet their individual goals. She routinely performs tree damage services relating to timber trespass and individual tree damage claims. She has earned the “Tree Risk Assessment Qualification” through ISA. In addition, Laura has taken a lead role working on forestry Best Management Practice (BMP) implementation monitoring projects in Minnesota and Michigan.
In her free time, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons on their small hobby farm in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, where she raises chickens, practices her apiary skills, and enjoys managing a small fruit tree and blueberry orchard.

Appraisal: Current main job duty is as senior staff appraiser. Earned Certified General Appraiser licenses in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota in April 2001. Past projects have included federal/industrial land exchanges, large tract, industrial land disposals and acquisitions, conservation easements, and other vacant forestland properties of various acreages. Took Appraisal Institute–sponsored course entitled “Uniform Appraisal Standards for Federal Land Acquisitions (Yellow Book)” on November 5 and 6, 2009 in Livonia, Michigan.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS): Manager of Steigerwaldt’s PC Arc/Info GIS from 1991 (its implementation) to 2000. Experienced in all phases of a GIS project from initial planning to final hard copy maps.
Aerial Photo Mapping and Interpretation: Skilled in black and white, true color, and color infrared photo interpretation at scales ranging from 1:12,000 to 1:40,000 throughout the upper Midwest.
Forest Inventory and Cruising: Entry level position in June 1980. Occasional projects still arise that provide opportunities to apply his extensive field experience or assist in cruise design.
Forest Management Planning: Trained to perform all private forestland management tasks including the initial land inspection, creating a management plan, and implementing the plan through the use of timber harvesting, tree planting, or other management tools as needed.

Lee offers business leadership perspective and experience in a growing and transitioning business and feels the emphasis on cultural expectations and principle values is key to thriving through transitions.
She enjoys working on the Christmas tree farm and at the maple syrup shack, and pursuing steelhead in the Brule River in northern Wisconsin with her husband, Todd. She has two children, a daughter and son. She helps lead acquisition projects with a special focus in quality control and data organization. She has received her Right-of-Way Agent designation through the International Right-of-Way Association and has applied for her Right-of-Way Negotiation and Acquisition designation (R/W NAC) through IRWA, expecting to receive this in 2019. Carol is a licensed real estate agent and notary in Wisconsin.
Carol has worked on numerous transmission line, gas line, and highway projects in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota.

Haakon’s current job duties at Steigerwaldt include performing and overseeing all aspects of utility and highway right-of-way acquisitions including attending public meetings, obtaining necessary local and state permits, preparing market studies, negotiating with public and private landowners, settling damage claims, and handling vegetation management issues. As Operations Director, Haakon is also responsible for the development, implementation, and supervision of the day-to-day activities of the Real Estate Acquisition team. This includes reviewing, evaluating, and managing the acquisition process, ensuring due diligence, and compliance with all client and statutory requirements. Additionally, Haakon coordinates with clients on project schedule and workflow to ensure successful completion within specified timeframes.

Debra had worked in the right-of-way field for 14 years before her employment with Steigerwaldt, securing easements and laydown yards/staging sites for transmission lines, eminent domain, vegetation permissions, and permitting for roadway and railroad crossings in Wisconsin and Michigan.

Land Sales
Throughout his career, Chris has been involved in industrial and non-industrial private land management. He currently manages Timberland Investment Management Organization (TIMO) land bases in northern Wisconsin. He earned the role of a real estate salesperson in 2017, where he specializes in vacant land sales.
Outside of Steigerwaldt Land Services, he is a town board supervisor and he is active in the youth wrestling program. In his free time, he and his wife keep busy raising four children on their property near Hayward, Wisconsin. His hobbies include bird hunting with his two labs, fishing with the family, and coaching.

Josh specializes in forest operations oversight and execution for large private landowners (TIMO, REIT, and large private non-industrial ownerships). He is experienced in all aspects of Lake States and Appalachian silviculture, third-party certification systems (FSC, SFI, and ATF), timber sale harvest planning, establishment, marketing, contracting, and administration, inventory execution and field oversight, forest road maintenance and improvement, and reforestation planning and contracting. He holds a Wisconsin Real Estate Sales License and assists clients with timberland and recreational real estate acquisitions, dispositions, marketing, contracting, due diligence, recreational lease program oversight, and strategic direction.
In his current role, Josh manages Steigerwaldt’s offices in Hayward, Wisconsin and Negaunee, Michigan. He is responsible for operations oversight of approximately 275,000 acres of client-owned properties, as well as client and company budget management, client relationships, project management, staffing, procurement, and execution of business directives and expectations.
Josh resides in Hayward, Wisconsin, and enjoys spending time with his family, deer hunting, searching for shed antlers, musky fishing, and coaching youth basketball.

Along with assisting the financial department as needed, Patti maintains and tracks expenses daily, making sure all vendors receive accurate payments in a timely manner. She is proficient in navigating accounting software and creating documents needed to capture department expenditures. Essentially, if you need to know detail about expenses, Patti will produce it.
Time away from the office is spent cooking, walking, biking, writing, kayaking, or just enjoying her home and garden.
