Our Core
Kari Genson has been with Steigerwaldt for 7 years. She currently holds the title of Regional Operations Manager – West Division.
What do you specialize in?
I specialize in managing right-of-way acquisition and land services for major transmission and distribution projects. My strengths are team leadership, landowner and client relations, and coordinating real estate deliverables with utility project timelines.
What does a day in your role look like?
My day is a mix of juggling projects and people. I check in with my team, answer questions, review documents, and connect with clients or landowners. It’s really about problem-solving and keeping all the moving parts lined up
What initially drew you to your field?
My background was in real estate and appraisal at Steigerwaldt, and when the right-of-way department needed additional help, I got pulled in. What started as pitching in quickly turned into something I really liked, and that’s the direction I kept going.
What energizes you and keeps your passion going?
What really energizes me is working with such a variety of people—landowners, clients, and my team. Every day brings a new challenge, and I love seeing how we can pull together and solve problems.
What is your favorite part of your role or favorite thing about working at Steigerwaldt?
What I enjoy most are the people. Our team is incredibly supportive and hardworking, and no matter what comes up, we’re always there for one another. What I love most about Steigerwaldt is that it’s family oriented. It’s that mix of teamwork and family values that makes me proud to be here.
What are three attributes that describe your team?
Resilient, supportive, adaptable
