The most rewarding projects were timber appraisals on all of the Apostle Islands in 1971 and follow up on those that went through condemnation in Federal Court where I did my first expert witness work.
What are your biggest accomplishments at Steigerwaldt?
Some of our biggest accomplishments have been navigating a growing business for 40 years, starting Real Estate Appraisal as a major department, starting the ROW department successfully, negotiating the sale of Pine River Lumber Company and earning a substantial commission, appraising the 800,000-acre Boundary Waters canoe area for the federal government, starting our Florida Christmas tree retail lot where we have now sold over 50,000 Christmas trees, and developing recognition for Steigerwaldt as expert witnesses in fields such as transmission lines, timber, Christmas trees, shade and ornamental landscape,
What is your favorite Steigerwaldt value and why?
Stewardship. Good stewardship requires all of the values we have and drives everything.
How do you see this value in action at work?
I see stewardship in whatever we do which includes delivering quality work, fast.
