Carol Ahles has been with Steigerwaldt for 17 years. She currently holds the title of Real Estate Specialist.
What do you specialize in?
I work primarily with preparing and proofreading documents, appraisals and any other types of documents needed for our acquisition needs.
What does a day in your role look like?
I keep busy with reviewing and replying to many emails as this is our most common type of communication with our clients, co-workers and landowners. I am always preparing and proofreading documents. I have project meeting almost every day to keep up with the project status and needs.
What initially drew you to your field?
I love the fact that Steigerwaldt Land Services encourages job shadowing. That is how I was introduced to our Right-of-Way department, and I was very intrigued by what it all entails and the variety of opportunities this field holds. I am a member of the International Right of Way association (IRWA) and have met many interesting people, and we are able to share stories and experiences.
What energizes you and keeps your passion going?
My team! I work with a great group of people that keep me on my toes, and they keep me energized and motivated.
What is your favorite part of your role or favorite thing about working at Steigerwaldt?
I like being part of a family-owned business that has been in business for over 60 years. There is great communication between the entire company, and I always feel like my work is recognized.
