What do you specialize in?
I specialize in Invasive Species control and tracking and recording pesticide use on projects.
What does a day in your role look like?
My day depends on what season it is. During the cold seasons, I help with a lot of crossover work with the Forest Operations and Inventory & Geospatial Solutions departments. During warmer weather, I am working in my Environmental department doing invasive species control, wetland delineations, wetland monitoring, and oak wilt suppression.
What initially drew you to your field?
My love for the outdoors is what drew me to pursue a career in this field. I want to help and preserve the environment, and this job helps me to accomplish that.
What energizes you and keeps your passion going?
What energizes me at this job is knowing that I am making a difference out in the environment. Being able to see progress being made on each project is also very rewarding.
What is your favorite part of your role or favorite thing about working at Steigerwaldt?
My favorite thing about working at Steigerwaldt is working with all the great staff here. Every member contributes to the overall performance of the company and wants to do their best to make Steigerwaldt great.
