Richard Congdon has been with Steigerwaldt for 5 and a half years. He currently holds the title of Forest Asset Manager.

What do you specialize in?

I specialize in managing large timberland assets. From stump to mill, our team provides comprehensive services for timberland investment clients. Additionally, I focus on client relations and business development.

What does a day in your role look like?

There are no two days that are the same in my role. I could be conducting site assessments, determining harvest prescriptions and silviculture schemes, inventory planning, growth and yield modeling, valuation and appraisal services, budgeting and workload planning, writing proposals, and much more. Every day brings on a new and exciting challenge!

What initially drew you to your field?

My love for the outdoors drew me to forestry. I enjoy working with the forest products industry and sustainably managing our renewable forest resources.

What energizes you and keeps your passion going?

Working in the fast-paced field of consulting energizes me. Each day presents unique challenges, and I enjoy assisting clients in fulfilling their needs.

What is your favorite part of your role or favorite thing about working at Steigerwaldt?
