Shining a light on our women-owned and led partners.

North of Eight Design and Marketing was founded in 2018 by Emily Gall and is now co-owned and led with Kassie Dalsveen. North of Eight assists Steigerwaldt in a range of areas including website management, promotional material creation, videography, social media management, and SEO. Their team capacity can support all aspects of your marketing or branding needs.

What services do you provide?

We’re a marketing agency in the woods! We help clients create and execute long-term marketing strategies and build killer websites.

Tell us about your career path so far. How have you gotten to where you are today?

Emily and Kassie both started their marketing careers as marketing parties of one – leading small teams within organizations, maxed out on resources and with too many plates spinning. Burnt out by our mid-twenties, we started the agency we wish we would’ve had all those years ago when we were in-house marketers.

What challenges have you overcome as a woman in leadership or challenges that women face in your field today? Do you have any advice?

Our corporate jobs taught us to make ourselves smaller in many ways; to accept that our wages wouldn’t reflect our value, to avoid asking for help for fear of being seen as weak or stupid. We knew our best ideas would only come to fruition if we ran them up the chain of command, allowing others credit for our thoughts and ideas.

At North of Eight – we’re actively working to unravel this in ourselves while supporting the newer generations of women marketers, empowering them to be bold decision makers.

Can you tell us about a woman who positively influenced your life?

Emily’s role model is her mom. It’s totally cliche, but watching her mom grow into a strong woman entrepreneur has empowered Emily to believe that the impossible is possible, and the only limits we have are those we place upon ourselves. Kassie’s role model is Mema, her great grandma. Mema taught Kassie what it looked like to love fully, and to put your all in every endeavor. She helped instill a deep work ethic and taught Kassie that there was no job a man could do that she couldn’t do. She was unapologetically herself and lived her life authentically.
