Our Core
Sarah Fastelin has been with Steigerwaldt for 2 years. She currently holds the title of Division Coordinator.
What do you specialize in?
My specialty is expecting the unexpected! I have a degree in English Education, so I excel at proofing and formatting proposals, letters, and documents. I also highly enjoy being involved in the Marketing and HR aspect of the job, data entry, and behind the scenes organization and upkeep.
What does a day in your role look like?
My role encompasses a wide variety of tasks and specialties that can change on a daily basis. Being in charge of marketing for the company, multiple social media and blog posts need to be created for each week. I also compile safety statistics and information for every week that tracks employee usage of our safety forms and applications to ensure that we are taking care of our people and providing them with the support they need to do their jobs safely. I am also the main proofreader for the company, so I receive a lot of proposals, letters, and contracts that need to be edited and formatted before being sent to clients. My role also encompasses being a backup and cross support for all of the departments that make up Steigerwaldt, so new projects and tasks always cross my desk which keeps the day interesting and exciting.
What initially drew you to your field?
I learned about this job from an employee that was currently working at Steigerwaldt. I was just starting to tiptoe back into the world of work after being a stay-at-home mom for many years. The flexibility offered, the amazing team culture, and the creativity the role requires were instant attractors for me.
What energizes you and keeps your passion going?
I love the variability of my job. Every day brings something new and different to my plate, so it keeps me on my toes and keeps me learning.
What is your favorite part of your role or favorite thing about working at Steigerwaldt?
My favorite part of my role is that with marketing and HR, we are involved with every employee and every department at Steigerwaldt. Being able to build those relationships and the ability to get to know everyone is so much fun! Steigerwaldt has truly built an amazing team of good people who are driven, curious, and dedicated. I wake up every day excited to work and to check things off my to-do list and see what new things come my way.
What are three attributes that describe your team?
We all say this, but I truly have the BEST team ever!! We are small but mighty!! Three attributes that encompass who my team is are our flexibility to roll with the punches, our creativity to find solutions and new paths forward, and FUN – we share so many stories, life hacks, and have taken the time to build true friendships that make work so enjoyable!
