Environmental Specialist

Andrew J. Baranowski

Andrew serves as the Environmental Specialist at Steigerwaldt Land Services. He is responsible for supporting the Land and Resources division through the Environmental Department. His responsibilities include soil and vegetation sampling, invasive species identification and control, data recording, field observations, and timber marking.

Andrew specializes in soil and vegetation sampling as well as invasive species control.

Andrew holds a Bachelor's Degree from UW- La Crosse in Geography with an emphasis in Environmental Science.

Prior to his current position, Andrew was summer help at La Crosse Beverage and an intern for the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration (FSPA) with helping to track soil erosion on their property.

In his free time, Andrew enjoys hiking, fishing, hunting, and watching sports.

Environmental Operations Manager

Dani E. DeCloux

Dani serves as the Environmental Operations Manager at Steigerwaldt Land Services. She is responsible for leading the Natural Resources and Environmental department through strategic direction, project management, client relationship management, project procurement, department and staff oversight, and team development. Dani specializes in invasive species identification and control, prescribed burns, Wisconsin native vegetation, prairie restoration, bluff stabilization and erosion control, rain garden installation, bioswale maintenance, and vegetation monitoring.

Dani holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.

Prior to her current position, Dani was a Restoration Ecologist overseeing the Stewardship department for a small native landscaping and environmental restoration firm in southeastern Wisconsin.

In her free time, Dani hikes with her dog Ducky. She hopes to make use of the Northwood’s lakes this summer to teach him how to kayak. She also takes time to do outreach and educate the public on Wisconsin’s native ecology as a Wisconsin Master Naturalist. When she isn’t looking at plants, she also enjoys leading 4H projects, crochet, embroidery, photography, and ceramics.

Environmental Project Manager

Austin M. Schoen

As a Environmental Project Manager for Steigerwaldt, Austin is responsible for setting up and administering timber sales, harvest boundary delineations, timber marking and gathering inventory data. He also performs with soil and vegetation sampling, invasive species identification and control, data recording, field observations, wetland delineations, report writing and permitting.

Prior to his current position, Austin had spent time working various LTE positions at other environmental-based organizations. His most recent experience was with the County of Columbia as a Land and Water Department Intern.

Austin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and graduated in 2019. He then returned to UW-Stout and earned his Master’s degree in Conservation Biology in 2021.

In his free time, Austin enjoys spending time with friends and family. He also enjoys fishing, boating, hiking, and many other outdoor activities. Some of his other favorite activities include golf, volleyball, and traveling.
