John specializes in locating and setting monumentation and all aspects of construction surveying including municipal infrastructure and utilities, curb and gutter, highway construction, transmission/power line construction, and oil and gas exploration. He is also proficient in collecting topographic data at the standards needed for engineering purposes, GIS, ALTA/NSPS, and FEMA Flood Certifications.
John is a member of the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors and the Northern Lakes Chapter of the WSLS.
Prior to his current position, John was a party chief for two separate engineering and surveying companies in Wisconsin and Colorado over the course of 12 years. His work included all aspects of boundary and construction surveying in New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, and Wisconsin. Prior to joining the surveying profession, he worked for the United States Forest Service for seven years in Colorado and Idaho.
John holds a B.S. in Outdoor Recreation and Resource Management from Indiana University – Bloomington. He has received his Professional License in Land Surveying in July of 2019 and is looking forward to helping expand the Land Surveying Department.

Emily specializes in consulting with clients regarding regulatory issues pertaining to their project and has an extensive knowledge of local ordinances. She works regularly with WDNR, FEMA, county, and town zoning personnel to help guide clients with their project needs. She has an extensive background and experience with subdividing sections, the re-establishment of the US Public Land Survey System corners. She works with project management and coordination to ensure that timelines and expectations are exceeded, and is the lead on quality control within the land surveying department.
Emily served as the President of the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors in 2016 and remains an active member on their Board of Directors. She is also in tune with the actions of the National Society of Land Surveyors, serving as a representative of the surveyors of Wisconsin on their Board of Directors. She is also active with the Geospatial Committee and the Ethics and Standards of Practice Committee at the state level, and she chairs the Workforce Development Committee at the national level.
Prior to her current position, Emily served as the County Surveyor for Marathon County, Wisconsin. She served in that capacity for 5 years, and worked for the Conservation, Planning, and Zoning office of Marathon County for 13 years. There she gained the knowledge and experience to navigate local and state ordinances and statutes to help clients meet their goals.
Emily holds an Associates Degree in Science, specializing in Land Surveying from Nicolet College in 2001. She also continued her education and acquired additional certificates as a Certified Survey Technician in 2003. She earned her Professional Land Surveyor’s license in 2005, and she acquired her certification as a Certified Federal Surveyor in 2013.
In her spare time, Emily enjoys coaching volleyball for the local high school and youth club programs. She is active with the youth softball program and loves to watch her two daughters contribute to their sports teams. She and her husband also enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors with their family.

Throughout his career, Chris has been involved in industrial and non-industrial private land management. He currently manages Timberland Investment Management Organization (TIMO) land bases in northern Wisconsin. He earned the role of a real estate salesperson in 2017, where he specializes in vacant land sales.
Outside of Steigerwaldt Land Services, he is a town board supervisor and he is active in the youth wrestling program. In his free time, he and his wife keep busy raising four children on their property near Hayward, Wisconsin. His hobbies include bird hunting with his two labs, fishing with the family, and coaching.

Josh specializes in forest operations oversight and execution for large private landowners (TIMO, REIT, and large private non-industrial ownerships). He is experienced in all aspects of Lake States and Appalachian silviculture, third-party certification systems (FSC, SFI, and ATF), timber sale harvest planning, establishment, marketing, contracting, and administration, inventory execution and field oversight, forest road maintenance and improvement, and reforestation planning and contracting. He holds a Wisconsin Real Estate Sales License and assists clients with timberland and recreational real estate acquisitions, dispositions, marketing, contracting, due diligence, recreational lease program oversight, and strategic direction.
In his current role, Josh manages Steigerwaldt’s offices in Hayward, Wisconsin and Negaunee, Michigan. He is responsible for operations oversight of approximately 275,000 acres of client-owned properties, as well as client and company budget management, client relationships, project management, staffing, procurement, and execution of business directives and expectations.
Josh resides in Hayward, Wisconsin, and enjoys spending time with his family, deer hunting, searching for shed antlers, musky fishing, and coaching youth basketball.
