Our Roots
Dani DeCloux has been with Steigerwaldt for 1 year, 2 months. She currently holds the title of Environmental Operations Manager.
What are three skills or attributes that describe you?
Strategic, Analytical, Supportive
Which projects that you have worked on have been the most enjoyable?
Working with the WDNR on their Oak Wilt prevention and treatment program has been one of the most rewarding projects to work on. I enjoy being able to use my knowledge and skills to protect our red oaks in northern Wisconsin.
What are your biggest accomplishments at Steigerwaldt?
I have really enjoyed watching our small environmental team build out their skill sets and find their niches in the natural resource space. Everyone has a passion that brought them to this field and it’s great watching that spark grow with each project.
What is your favorite Steigerwaldt value and why?
Stewardship. One of the basic tenants of land management and natural resource conservation is maintaining the ecological integrity and processes necessary for the land to continue to support native habitat functions.
How do you see this value in action at work?
Whether it be the removal of invasive species, selective timber harvests, or protecting and restoring wetlands, stewardship is one of the big reasons I chose my career path. Being a good steward to the land is all about balancing the needs of the client, with the needs of the property and being the bridge between ecological function and human necessity.
