What’s in Rich’s Cruise Vest?
This month, I am bringing attention to the cruise vest itself. Foresters have a lot of field gear, so we have cruise vests to help carry and store everything in.
My vest has various grommets to tie my prism, compass, clinometer, etc. onto so I don’t have a bunch of loose equipment. There is also a sleeve for an increment borer or pin flags and many, many pockets to stash all my other gear and loose string cheese wrappers.
I personally prefer hi-vis orange with reflective stripes so loggers, landowners, hunters, or whoever else I may run into in the woods can see me and know where I am at so we can all stay safe.
