Hard Hats and Blaze Orange
A successful project always starts with a safe crew. Just a few of the safety measures our field staff take at Steigerwaldt are wearing hard hats and blaze orange vests.
Hard hats are key in protecting field staff from falling debris and increasing their visibility in the field. From working in remote Alaska to checking on a local timber sale, hard hats protect foresters from falling pine cones and branches, and help logging equipment operators spot a forester from a distance.
Another measure to increase visibility includes wearing blaze orange. Every crew member has an orange vest and wears it whenever working out in the field. Staying safe and visible during hunting season, when working near recreational trails or roads, and when meeting up with other foresters or loggers is key for preventing injury on the job.
