Our Roots

Ben Nicholson has been with Steigerwaldt for 8 months.  He currently holds the title of Appraisal Specialist.

What are three skills or attributes that describe you?

Adaptable, Diligent, Calm

Which projects that you have worked on have been the most enjoyable?

The most fun I’ve had was on an inspection in the Driftless region of Wisconsin – hiking in the wooded bluffs for a day. The most rewarding appraisal I’ve completed was for a Ducks Unlimited grant to purchase a piece of wetlands for future conservation.

What are your biggest accomplishments at Steigerwaldt?

My biggest accomplishment at Steigerwaldt  so far has been completing my CGA courses – now onto the application and exam to become a licensed appraiser.

What is your favorite Steigerwaldt value and why?

Stewardship. Fostering relationships with the people around me and taking care of the environment are fundamental aspects of my life – professionally and personally.

How do you see this value in action at work?

Whether it’s maintaining positive relationships with clients, supporting team members, appraising lands for conservation use or working with strong integrity to provide an opinion of fair market value for utility work, stewardship is in action every day at Steigerwaldt.
